I have some exciting news to share with you. There are a lot of great shows coming up, so visit the Upcoming Events section of the site to get full information. On Friday May 2nd I will be singing at CARNEGIE HALL with one of my biggest musical heroes: the amazing Bobby McFerrin!. He selected a group of vocalists/improvisers that sing in a variety of musical traditions from all over the world. The project is called Instant opera and is part of the Carnegie hall workshop series. It is an improvised, a cappella work based on the story of the Tower of Babel, exploring the origins of language while celebrating cultural differences. Here is the link, get your ticket!

We have a show coming up in Manhattan at CACHACA, a great NEW club in the Village. Come to see us on friday May 23rd! And if you are in Boston, you can catch us at RYLES on Saturday the 24th of May. We have also been invited to participate in a big big festival for mothers: MAMAPALOOZA, happening on Saturday May 17th in Westchester NYC.

And we finally put out ALCATRAZ Alcatraz new record! This is my Afro-Peruvian project led by bassist Edward Perez. You can get a copy of our debut album here. Also, we just finished recording Folklore Urbano s third production entitled Corazon. The cd release will be happening very soon, I will keep you posted. You can also visit Chonta Records or FOLKLORE URBANO for more information. I have been invited to record with Edward Perez group as well. This will be his second record as a soloist, a jazz album featuring his original compositions. It will be out very soon as well. And last, AVANTRIO is also finishing its debut record! After many years of working on this project with Jorge Roeder on bass and Jorge Perez Albela on cajon, we are very happy to be going to the studio to document this music.
