A new collection of unknown songs from every corner of the American continent, North and South, put together with Sofia’s longtime collaborator Jorge Roeder. They have been working together as a duo and in many configurations for over 14 years. Originally from Lima, Peru, New York City-based bass player Jorge Roeder is the co-artistic director and co-producer of all of Sofia’s albums and is also currently part of the Grammy-nominated Julian Lage Group, Shai Maestro Trio, Victor Prieto Trio, Ryan Keberle’s Catharsis, among others.

Tiny Desk meets globalFest, Monday Jan 11@ 8pm

My dear people, happy 2021! Even through these uncertain, tumultuous times, music shall prevail...

Starting this Monday Jan 11th: NPR's Tiny Desk Meets globalFEST!!!!!!!

Year after year I have been a fan of both globalFEST and Tiny Desk where so many of my musical heroes have performed and inspired me. Despite the pandemic and the cancelling/suspension of all touring, it is happening and I am super honored to be part of this special 2021 edition. Check out this phenomenal line up with artists from all over the globe. Hosted by African super star Angélique Kidjo, join the shows from home from Monday Jan 11 to the 14th. Our segment premieres on Monday the 11th at 8pm via NPR Music's Youtube channel. Proud of my super band elegantly masked with selvatic garments and giving it all. With JC Maillard (guitars, electric bass, laptop, vocals), Jorge Glem (cuatro), Leo Geno (keys) and Ana Carmela Ramirez Contramaestre (vocals, percussion).
